Stayed here a few times many years ago and was very happy to return with my partner to show him the wonderful delights of this part of Suffolk. He was not disappointed! The hotel is still as great, we brought the dog this time so had to have a garden room which was more tired than I remember the house rooms being, and there was dust on several surfaces which was disappointing. The room also had a ‘dog smell’ and whilst I get it was a dog friendly room, I don’t think it’s acceptable for it to smell like dog. However, none of those things were big deals as the room was large and comfy (great bed) and some thoughtful bits left for the dog. The flask of fresh milk for tea/coffee was very welcome as none likes those horrid cartons or sachets! The staff are really helpful and friendly and the food was excellent, both dinner and breakfast. Nice wine list too! Orford is a dreamy village of disproportion quaintness levels and I was delighted it hadn’t changed a jot in the ooh maybe 16 years since I last visited!
We have just returned home after a two night stay here. It was our first visit and we will definitely return! Nothing was too much trouble for the team there and they made our stay extra special! Lovely room with outside seating area. Delicious dinners and the breakfast was super special. Lovely village with lots to see and do locally. Unreservedly recommend this delightful hotel and its friendly, helpful staff.
Well appointed room, overlooking the village square. Idyllic location, within easy walking distance of the harbour. Lovely walks along the banks and local footpaths through the countryside. Always a welcome back from hotel staff on return at the end of the day, and an excellent meal to round off the day in style!
